Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser Resurfacing is a relatively new technique in which light energy is used to remove the most superficial layer of the skin (epidermis) and actually stimulate increased collagen in the deeper layers of the skin [the dermis]. There are many different types of lasers to choose from and we offer a wide range of treatment options. CO2 Laser resurfacing

The Sharplan Silktouch is a high energy carbon dioxide(CO2) laser, the "Gold Standard" in wrinkle reducing lasers. With this technique, a topical anesthetic cream is applied to the skin prior to the procedure. Laser resurfacing is then performed over selected areas. The patient applies ointment over the area and washes the area 4 to 6 times a day for the next 5 to 7 days. Most patients find that by the 7th day they are able to apply makeup over the reddened skin. The redness gradually fades away but is easily covered by makeup during this time period. The advantage of this technique is that the patient recovers quickly and can resume normal social and work activities looking better immediately! There is virtually no pain associated with this technique and this is the only type of laser that actually tightens the skin while removing the wrinkles! No other laser type will do this! This makes this type of laser resurfacing procedure very desirable if one can take the 5 - 7 days off from work.
