Rhinoplasty
(nose refinement)
|
Rhinoplasty
or plastic surgery of the nose, is the procedure to reshape
the cartilage, bone and soft tissue of the nose to improve
the nasal appearance. No one feature affects the way you look
quite as much as your nose. A nose that is too long or too
big may dominate your face. A nose that is crooked may detract
attention away from an otherwise pleasing face. A crooked
nose may affect nasal breathing and this can be addressed
the same time rhinoplasty surgery is performed. Today the
goal of a rhinoplasty surgery is to improve nasal harmony
with the rest of the face while maintaining the function of
the nasal airway.

Revision
Rhinoplasty
Revision
rhinoplasty surgeries are usually much more difficult than
a first time or primary rhinoplasty procedure. Often times
too much has been resected which not only makes the nose appear
unnatural or "operated on" but nasal function has suffered
as well. In addition, there is usually an excessive amount
of scarring that makes the surgery more difficult and the
results more unpredictable. The key performing successful
revision rhinoplasty surgery is in the diagnosis. By understanding
the anatomic and functional deficits before the surgery, the
surgeon can plan the right type of surgery to correct and
rebuild the nose in order to achieve a more naturally appearing
and breathing nose.
