What is Juvéderm Voluma™ XC?
Juvéderm Voluma™ XC is the only FDA approved cosmetic filler designed to restore instant fullness to the apple, hollow and apex of the cheek area. It is also occasionally used on the chin, jaw and neck. Like Juvéderm ® XC, the gel is made primarily from hyaluronic acid, but has been altered so that it adds a subtle fullness and lift to the cheek and mid-face region. The treatment requires very little downtime and the results last up to two full years.
How does it work?
As we age the fatty tissue that gives our faces youthful smoothness begins to diminish, leading to the development of wrinkles and sagging skin. After the application of a numbing cream, Juvéderm Voluma™ XC can be injected in those areas where the face’s natural sub-cutaneous fat has been depleted, restoring fullness and smoothing wrinkles.

Dr. Nicolette Picerno is a double-board-certified facial cosmetic surgeon certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology. She received her medical degree from Hahnemann University, School of Medicine in Philadelphia, and completed her fellowship for the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Beeson Aesthetic Surgery Institute in Carmel, IN. She also completed the Cenegenics Physician Training and Certification in Age Management Medicine program in 2012 and became a certified BioTE provider in 2014. When not in the office, Dr. Picerno enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, skiing, playing tennis, and running her doggie daycare with her husband.
