May adults live with submental fullness, also known as a double chin. A double chin can be caused by many factors, including weight gain, genetics, and aging. If submental fullness is the result of genetics and aging, it often cannot be corrected with diet and exercise alone. Kybella® can help to eliminate this submental fullness for a slimmer, more youthful chin profile.

What is Kybella®?
Kybella is an FDA-approved injectable treatment used to destroy fat cells under the chin. Made up of a synthetic version of deoxycholic acid, which naturally occurs in the body to break down and absorb dietary fat. When Kybella is injected into the double chin, it destroys fat cells, which are eliminated naturally from the body.
How Does Kybella Work?
During treatment, Kybella is administered via multiple small injections in the double chin. This process takes between 15-20 minutes to complete. The number of injections will be determined by the amount of fat under the chin that you wish to eliminate.
The number of treatment sessions needed will depend on the amount of submental fat that needs to be treated. Most patients receive six treatments spaced a month apart to see optimal results.
Kybella Results
After a Kybella treatment, patients may experience mild swelling, bruising, and numbness under the chin. These effects should resolve within a few days. There is no downtime required after injection, so patients can return to their everyday routine.
